Here's a story of a girl,
Living in the lonely world,
A hidden note, A secret crush,
A little boy who talks too much.

Well, I'm standing in the crowd,
And when you smile I check you out,
But you don't even know my name,
You're too busy playing games,

And I want you too know,
If you lose your way,
I won't let you go.

If I cut my hair,
If I change my clothes,
Will you notice me?

If I bite my lip,
If I say hello,
Will you notice me?

即使再想拥有,我也不会强求。
若是你想放手,我也不会挽留。
虽不强求,也不挽留,
但也并不代表我想让一切就这样走。
我会继续加油,继续做你的好朋友,
直到你回头。

skiing. my first time.

went skiing last weekend. (: it was freaking. fun. scary. fun. hurhur. i think we were crazy. we've never skiied before, but we just went to try the beginner's slope immediately. there was this really gentle and small little practice slope thingy but we didn't realise. until we went down the beginner's slope. and it was really scary. i basically screamed and fell throughout the first trip own the slope. and i probably took a really long time. but thankfully, there were really helpful people along the way and they taught me how to stand up after falling, and what the correct way of skiing is. but that still doesn't change the fact that i screamed like mad and fell like crazy. thankfully, by the 3rd or 4th time, i didn't fall as much. like about twice per trip. but that's also about when i felled down and sort of sprained(?) my knee while i was trying to stand up. oopsies. thankfully it isn't really hurting badly. i can walk normally. just a slight pain of sorts when i climb stairs. and after than fall, i skiied one last time, and the ski lift was closed.

oh, and cody and i were so dumb when we went up the ski lift the first time. cos we sat on it, and it moved off. then the attendant at the ski lift kept shouting, "put the bar down! put the bar down!" but we didn't know what the bar was. until we were halfway up on the ski lift, i suddenly realised what the bar is. it's the safety bar that we were supposed to clamp down over us so that we won't accidentally fall off the seats. lol. and i was thinking why the ski lift was so dangerous, like it's possible for people to fall off any time. =.=

after skiing on saturday, we went back to our pretty log cabin. expensive. but everything was really great. the beds were comfortable, the kitchen had all the utensils, every room had a sharp aquos lcd tv. O.O the singaporeans made dinner, and the hongkong people washed the dishes. simple pasta to save money. hurhur.

and sunday, while everyone went up to the skiing area, sunshine village, i stayed at banff. cos my knee hurt and i didn't want to strain it further, cos i didn't know if it's get worse. but it wasn't too bad, cos i could walk properly. i was so afraid that it'll become swollen when i woke up in the morning. so spent the day at banff, walking through all the souvenir shops but nothing caught my eye. so too bad, friends, no souvenirs for you. and finished reading a lousy book. james patterson - the quickie. lousy crime novel. seriously. then when the rest were done skiing/snowboarding, they came to pick me up and we went back to calgary. and we had steamboat for dinner. EXPENSIVE STEAMBOAT. and not all that delicious. ayyy.

and i really wanted to try snowboarding. but forget it, i've no money for that anymore. skiing is really expensive. that single day, i probably spent about 150cad getting the ski pass and renting the equipment and ski jackets and pants. expensive..... and still have to include the accommondation, car rental and what nots. yeahhh

so I AM BROKE. URGH. but skiing was fun. (((((:

next up, yukon. brave the cold. see the snow. enjoy the scenery. and let us see the aurora.

reading week.

so much for a reading week.

first, it's not right before the exams. in fact i've about a month to my papers.

second, it's not even a week. the reading week was from 11112009 to 15112009. and the 11th was already a public holiday. so strictly speaking, we only had a break on thursday and friday.

third, this reading week we didn't study at all. we went to eastern canada! woots. spent roughly a day each at toronto, niagara falls, montreal and quebec city. and now i'm broke. =X didn't really do much at toronto cos we didn't have much time. but being able to see the sunset at the harbourfront was really quite a sight. and downtown toronto was quite happening too. unlike calgary, where the city becomes dead at like 6pm?? niagara falls was obviously great. the falls was spectacular, whether it's in the day or at night, the view is breathtaking and simply marvelous. it's just so sad that the maid of the mist season was over already. we also visited ripley's believe it or not, the skywheel and a wax museum. ripley's was great. the wax museum was.. not bad. the skywheel.. it went too fast. but oh well, kinda saw much of niagara falls. (: the main street clifton hills was totally like a scene in a theme park or something. full or haunted houses, wax museum, food places, fun stuff and more fun stuff. and we went to the factory outlets. spent a lot of money there. and the chocolates i bought were kinda smashed. ): some of the chocolates at least. quite upsetting. )):

took an overnight bus to montreal. didn't really get to sleep much cos we had dinner at toronto en route to montreal, and dinner was japanese buffet. ate too much. stomach didn't feel really good and so couldn't really sleep. but oh wells. it's alright. kamal's friend put us up at his apartment so we saved on accommodation. heh. was old montreal, went into basilique notre-dame de montreal. a church. not a follower but the architecture was really pretty. when i was inside, i was amazed at how people could believe in their religion. it doesn't matter what religion it is; the thing is that they believe. i don't think i've this kind of belief. i might be superstitious and stuff. but.. i'm not all that sure if i believe. i want to believe that it exists. i try to pray for my family's well-being and all when we go to temples during new year, but.. i'm not sure it if really exists. i guess my current attitude is 寧可信其有. shrugs. so anyway, montreal was a really pretty place. the architecture in old montreal was great. the old french style buildings and the cobblestone roads.

then we went on a day tour to quebec city. saw the montmorency falls. i think that's the name. and also went up an observation tower and saw a bird's eye view of quebec city. then we went to walk around old quebec city too. once again, the architecture was really pretty. i really liked the old quebec city. i thought it'll be great if we could have more time there cos we only had around 2 hours to walk around. there's much more to see in old quebec city i think. ayyy.

so anyway, back from the trip now, totally in a holiday mood once again. =.= no mood for study. zzz. really think i'm going to die when i get back to nus.

btw, did i mention that i'm broke? URGH. totally finished and exceeded the amount of money moe gave me for this SEP. =.= i'm like spending the rest of my allowance now. =/ next semester i've got to take more tuition jobs. AYYYY.

edmonton!

just came back from edmonton with cody, leo, sharon and linda. (: it was a really great trip! in edmonton, the one and only place we visited was the west edmonton mall. LOL. we spent both days there. can you believe it? hurhur. it's the fifth largest mall in the world if i remember correctly. it's damn damn hugeeee. but guess what, i didn't buy a single item back. LOL.

okay, so the mall is really huge. how huge is huge? it was an amusement park and a water themed park in it! OMG. not only that, there's several themed areas in the mall, like the chinatown street (?) where there was a small koi pond, the bourbon street area where it's all the restaurant with all the neon signs, the europa boulevard which we didn't even walk through. there's also a huge pirate ship (a replica of some ancient pirate ship) in the mall, plus a sea lion performance area, an aquarium , an ice skating rink and a mini golf section. probably missed quite a number of stuff out. but yeah, that's how HUGE the freaking mall is.

and so, on the first day, we went shopping and then went to the Galaxyland amusement park. woah, the rides are goooooood. okay, actually i have no basis for comparison cos i've never got on rollercoaster rides before. (okay, i know i'm suaku.) 21 years old first time play amusement rides. but it's really good. one of which is the mindbender, the largest indoor triple loop roller coaster. hoho, it was really really fun. well, except for the fact that it gave me a strained neck. zz. probably pulled my neck muscles somehow. URGH. so freaking uncomfortable right now cos i feel that my head is in this weird position. =.=ll other than the mindbender, there are quite a number of other thrill rides too. DAMN DAMN FUN. hahaha. (: and we saw really old school arcade games! like those games in which you put a quarter in and there's like a few balls for you to roll in to score a certain number of points and win TICKETS. remember those tickets you used to collect when you went to arcades?? OMG. how nostalgic! and oh. there were bumper cars too!!! wheeee. HAHAH. really brings back all the childhood memories. heehee.

for dinner on the first day, we ate at boston pizza. the restaurant is good! yummy food! 5 of us shared 2 medium pizzas and 18wings, and it was only 15CAD! quite affordable. :D

drove down to our hotel in downtown edmonton, where we played many kai games, washed up and rested for the night.

on day 2, we returned to the mall for the water theme park! :D it's the world's largest waterpark (according to wiki). damn fun! the wave pool is so great! the one at jurong swimming complex is totally NOTHING compared to it. and the slides were fantastic! we girls played only the intermediate and the advanced slides, while the guys played the intermediate, advanced and extreme rides. hurhur. we didn't dare to play the extreme rides cos the depth of the pool at the end of the slide is at least 1.5m. (2out of 3 have a depth of 1.5m, while the third one was 3m deep.) i mean, given the fact that MY height is 1.5m and i can't really swim, i shouldn't really take the risk of playing those slides ESPECIALLY with my strained neck which doesn't even allow my to raise my head properly to do some pathetic dog paddle or some attempt of a swim. =.=ll in any case, it was still worth the money even though i didn't play the extreme slides. fun enough for me. (: and i'm sure everyone had fun too. :D

dinner was at the food court. and after that, sharon and i bought bubble tea! :DDD okay, it's EXPENSIVE. almost 4CAD. =.= but the size of the drink is larger than that we have in singapore. if the ones we have in singapore is of regular size, then the ones here are of medium size. hurhur. and as usual, i bought passion fruit green tea. with pearls. hurhur. cos they don't have jelly here. lol. oh and here, they have this shaker machine thingy to shake the drinks. so my passion fruit green tea was VERY WELL MIXED. :DDDD not like those in singapore in which i had to shake like crazy to mix the drink properly. =.=

so anyway, leo was the driver during our ride back to calgary. we left the place probably around 6ish pm and the sun has set long before. =.=ll it felt as if it was 10pm on the journey back. sheesh. but cos it was so dark and the sky was really clear, we could really see the stars really clearly. it was such a pretty sight! ((:

so now back home, with school tomorrow, just completed my assignment that's due tomorrow, about to sleep. next up, toronto/niagara falls/ montreal trip next week! :D

halloweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeen!

and it was halloween yesterday! woohoo. we went for the halloween pub crawl, in which we were supposed to go to 4 different clubs. in the end, i probably only went for 1.125 clubs. LOL. the event started at 2.30pm. the first club we went to was roadhouse. the place was quite big, and the music was pretty good. (: danced a little, and my feet started to hurt. zz gei kiang and bought heels to wear. lol. ohwells. anyway, it was really cool cos everyone dressed up! swee lah. saw tetris blocks, mario, luigi and the evil dragon thingy, many cops, captains, elves, fairies, devils, firewomen, nurses, french maids, cowboys,TMNTs, cows, telly tubbies, draculas, pirates, and the list goes on... well, in our group, we had john the ninja, ryan the zoro, tiff the pirate, kamal the dracula, cody the pirate, yoonjung the vampire, leo the clown, yukari the minnie mouse, meli the cat and ziping the captain. see the photos i uploaded onto fb for my costume. hurhur. i ended up looking like an air stewardess. zzzz. ohwells.

so anyway, there were buses catered to bring us to the second location! coolness, isn't it? the second place was vinyl. it was really hot inside, lack of ventilation plus having a whole lot of people. ayy. plus my feet were aching. zzz. so i went out, get some cool air, saw the hotdog stand, and decided to eat. HAHA. asked meli and tiff out to eat too. LOL. so the entire time, we spent it outside eating. hurhur.

then the third club was soho. zzz. the music was horrible. reminded me of dxo before they changed management. plus a bit of powerhouse feeling. i think they played trance and techno? and we were hungry already cos it was around dinner time. the initial plan was to find some food nearby to eat. kamal asked the bouncer if there was any food nearby. he pointed a direction and said there was pizza. but we walked and walked and saw no pizza. instead, we saw singapore's sam. o.O so out of curiosity, we went in. it was chinese buffet. i wasn't very hungry cos of the hotdog i ate, so i just ordered a la carte. same for meli and tiff. but the rest had buffet. and obviously, we ate for some time, and missed the last club, since we were pretty sure that we missed the bus. LOL.

was supposed to join kamal, yoonjung and vicki and gang at cascade for their party, before heading down for party at vinyl. BUT, my dying feet told me NOOOOOOOO. so i asked tiff to help me find someone for my ticket. yeah. so headed home. reached back around 9.30pm? so early eh? unbelivable. initial plan was to stay out till the next day. LOL.

oh. and did i mention, the heels were killing me so badly that i walked barefooted from place to place. LOL. not the first time anyway. hurhur.

but i thought this halloween pub crawl wasn't as fun as i hoped it would be. maybe partly cos of my heels. but i also felt it wasn't really worth it. like 44CAD. ayy. i'd rather spend 19CAD on the vinyl halloween party at night, and spend the whole night there or something like that. oh wells. but the company was great! (: so it was still really fun and crazy! :D

and now, i have to 1. do my pde assignment. 2. study for italian. =.=

8:08 PM

that was a midterm?

omg. the ode midterm was kind of easy. i'm actually quite sure that i'll get close to full marks. O.O there's even TWO mcq questions. wth. but i'm still pissed with myself, cos i spent about 30minutes on one question (out of eight). reason? i wrote a minus instead of a plus. and that was such a simple question! and i redid the question like 3-4 times? and i kept making the same error and i didn't realise! urgh. and i actually finished the paper in about 1hour. zzz. even though i'm probably like one of the first 10people (out of 80 maybe? not sure) people to hand in my script, it still irritated me to know that i took such a freaking long time on one question. sheesh.

and i'm so sure i'm going to die when i go back to nus, cos the exams here are like this? how am i going to adjust back to freaking nus. =.=ll

midterm tomorrow?

doesn't feel like it. i'm not even studying now. =.= all i did was to write my one page help sheet. and it's only 3/4 filled. 1 more column for me to write stuff, but i'm too lazy to write examples. sheesh. this hardly feels like a midterm. it feels more like my secondary or jc exams, the kind in which i studied only the day before. i'm being too slack eh.

but luckily, today steph came to my place and we did our helpsheets. and she treated me lunch at earl's. to thank me for helping her in her math all the time. lol. i had cream of mushroom and a 10inch pizza. the food was really delicious! yummy! the cream of mushroom had so many mushroom slices in it, i was so happy! ^^ and the pizza was yummmyyyyyyyy~! :D but i think it was quite expensive. =/ but really worth the money. (:

great day! (:
